Our Junior Sailing Program is designed for children 7 thru 17 years of age. Through
trained sailing instructors, and on the water group lessons, our aim is to teach our
Junior Sailors the basics of small sailboat handling, including care and rigging of boats,
safety, and for advanced sailors, racing techniques. Most of all the Junior Sailing
Program is designed to be a safe and enjoyable experience for our youth. We will be
using the US Sailing Curriculum and will work towards certifying each sailor in Small
Boat Handling. The fleet at SBYC consists of Optimists, Sunfish, Lasers and 420's.
