HIGH SEAS TOURNAMENT
This tournament is held each year with the Beach Haven Marlin and Tuna Club and Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club. The tournament structure has been modified to promote teamwork and to open the tournament to all anglers. Angling Categories have been established for Bluefish, Flounder, Weakfish, Dolphin, and Tuna. A point system will reward clubs that weigh in fish in each category. SBYC will need boats to compete in all of the fish categories. All members are invited to attend the Cocktail Party and Awards Ceremony. This is a great opportunity to meet and mingle with members from neighboring clubs.
The rules for this tournament will be available at the Captains Meeting prior to the event.
JUNIOR ANGLERS TOURNAMENT
The purpose of this event is to introduce young members to recreational fishing as a hobby. Only those 18 years of age and under are eligible for prizes. Anglers may be a Junior Member, a family member or a friend of a SBYC member. Breakfast will be served from 0600 to 0800. An awards luncheon will commence immediately after the 1230 hrs. Weigh-in deadline.
CRABBING CONTEST
This will be the 32nd annual Crabbing contest followed by the Crab Fest. The object is to promote a healthy "family" oriented "on the bay" contest for all ages. The secondary object is to have a good time.
Rules are almost non-existent, with the exception of the following. Crabs must be caught from a boat by whatever means the crabber chooses, hand lines, nets, etc. Crabbing starts at 8 AM and ends at the dock for a count-in by 3:30 pm. Take your crabs home, cook-em and return to the club at 6:00PM for the crab fest. Beer and soft drinks are provided and a prize for every boat that goes out crabbing. Join us this year and continue a tradition under the auspices of PC Jeff Thompson and his daughter Judy Magnusson and family.
